I just watched a video about this going on the other night. Thanks for contributing to a great cause.
James Yeager

James Mitchell
See this months Blue Press page 55 viking Tactics vtak mk1 sling for fal -hk91 rifles.
Ian Sheldrake
did not have very good slings hand bag straps. Only put them on when we needed both hands like fast roping and the such. We had a thing if we put the rifle down for some reason we had one step and a dive to get to it. Otherwise it was i our hands ready to go the sling was more in the way than a help
Ian Sheldrake
thinking back the sling was pritty short and the sling swivell on the butt ment there was no way to shoulder the weapon slung as well.
James Yeager
Wrong
Ian Sheldrake
ok
Ian Sheldrake
try it james use the rifle sling swivells a sling that is maybe 6inches longer than the distance between the swivells put on your gear sling the rifle across your chest and try and shoulder it. It also wants to hang upside down.
Stephen Davis
Curious – the anti-poaching unit – locals, or volunteers from everywhere?
Ian Sheldrake
just for info was back in the 80s and slings were not to be used big no no for us.
James Yeager
A big no no? Why?
Ian Sheldrake
carried an l1a1 when i was in the royal marines only ever used a sling on speed marches but have seen pictures of people using para cord around the thin part of the butt as an improvised rear sling attachment point. As for a sling you know better than me.
Ian Snider
For what my opinion is worth (which is pretty much nothing), the Rhodesians didn’t run slings on their rifles

You might want to contact the guys at Forgotten Weapons and InRangeTV. I know they tried out the FAL and found a few quirks with it. They might have some good insight.
James Yeager
That isn’t what I need.
William Penny
Nice looking rifle!!
Dean Beiring
Looks like a very robust weapon good luck!!
Billy Birdzell
Thank you for the support everyone!!
Doyle Tech
Done thanks for letting us know about this
Matt Fletcher
Nice one for getting out there to help. I have been looking for opportunities to help in some similar way myself in Zimbabwe or SA but I suppose you need to know the right people. Most of the opportunities are aimed at different areas. The SA government have extremely strict rules about non citizens in the security sector. I assume it is SA due to the mention of the R1.
James Yeager
You can always donate.
Matt Fletcher
Yeah I did, I also volunteered as a tracker. I didnt like being the only person in the 4 man patrol that was unarmed.
Ryan Whalen
Awesome James! i’m excited to see any footage that you’re able to get!
James Yeager
That is GOING TO happen!
Daniel Jones
The spectar gear 2 point is a pretty solid sling where did you get your 30 rounder
James Yeager
DSA
Mike Sykes
Would a ching sling work on that?
Richard Maunder
That’s GOOD ALL the BEST for your trip. π
Devin Speers
Good on you, and Billy. Man this would make a Liberals head explode, protecting rhinos and stopping poachers – with a scary rifle. A noble fight.
Richard Maunder
That’s why they are still being killed thanks to liberals !
Chris Sloane
Stop categorizing all liberals in one bucket. I think the majority of people would think this is a great cause to protect animals.
James Yeager
I do as I please.
Nathan Ruff
That’s awesome! What part of Africa?
